Hi Guys, I am just exploring the latest release of IPCOP which i put on a CF card in an old GnatBox-1000. Works fantastic as IPCOP always does. I am using pppoe for my internet and i was wondering if there was a way to show my sync rate as i have been having problems with it and now i have no access to the modem gui as it is in bridge mode for IPCOP. Cheers lads n ladies OJ |

Hi, oliverp. Showing your sync rate should only be available in your modem's GUI page. Since your modem's IP is in a different network from your Green one's you are not allowed to access it without a tweak to IPCop. Most likely your modem address is 192.168.1.1 so do the following: Initiate a SSH to your IPCop box. Don't forget IPCop uses port 222 for SSH. Change the following in the /etc/rc.d/rc.red file: Ip Address from 1.1.1.1 to 192.168.1.250 (You cannot use the same address as your modem, right?) Broadcast Address from 1.1.1.255 to 192.168.1.255 Maintain the Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.0 Save the /etc/rc.d/rc.red file. Issue this command "/etc/rc.d/rc.netaddress.down && /etc/rc.d/rc.netaddress.up" OR reboot your IPCop with the command "shutdown -r now". This way, you'll have access to your Modem's GUI page from your Green and Blue networks. Please note that this tweak only works if your Modem is configured in bridge mode and if it is IPCop handling all the PPPoE/PPPoA dialing procedures. Good luck. |

oh actually, this might be a problem. my modem is in bridge mode. And when i set it so it says it disables the web interface on the modem. I have no direct access to the device and it doesnt appear as a hop on a trace out. it was 10.1.1.1 but now its invisible. IPCOP is doing the pppoe. |

What's the Brand and Model of your modem? It does not seems "logical" to disable the web interface if set into bridge mode. How would you set it back to router mode if the web interface is disabled. Is there any telnet way to do it in this case? |

its a alcatel speadstream 4200, well i just replaced it with a billion 7300, again in bridge mode. they seem to all do that in full bridge, probably because it allows the router to have total control in doing so. Its just a peer peer so theres no point it having an IP anyway. there is an incomplete entry in the arp table of my firewall for 1.1.1.2.. pppoe int being 1.1.1.1. I guess unless i can get a snmp responce from the ATM interface then im buggered. OH and you usually have to do a factory reset to get the web gui back Edited by oliverp on 01/30/2008 - 21:48 |

I'm trying to do the same thing, and have followed the instructions here to the letter ... but it won't work :-( I'm connected to my ISP using PPPoE and the modem (Speedtouch 510v4) is in bridge mode. The modems IP is 192.168.0.201 After making the suggested changes, I checked my network status and it looks like this: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:60:97:A7:92:D9 So it seems that the red interface is being assigned the correct new IP, but I can't even ping the modem from the IPCop box, and certainly can't see its web GUI from a PC on the green interface. I can access the modem OK if I plug my laptop directly into it though, so the web GUI still functions in bridge mode. Do I need to add something to the routing tables or something to allow direct access from green to red? I'm running IPCop 1.4.21 with Advanced Proxy and Update Accelerator, if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help, and sorry if this is seen as a hijack (but it did seem to be exactly on topic...) Cheers, BabyZ |

Hi,Any further updates on this thread? Hope to see more replies one of these days, especially feedbacks from the thread starter. Seems like this thread has been inactive for such a long time. Think topic should be closed. Regards, kladriel Disque dur multimedia |
